Forsaken Children Of Minority Films

SOC Films created five documentary films as part of a series, Forsaken (Children of Minority). The series highlights important issues that affect a younger generation of religious minorities living in Pakistan today. From Hyderabad to Quetta and beyond, the moving portraits of five young people attempting to get ahead in life despite their ‘minority’ status are presented on screen there by creating a discourse about what it means to grow up as a minority in the country. These first  person accounts provide a window into how Pakistan’s minorities are perceived by the wider society.

The films narrate stories of how discrimination exclusion and violence shape and impact the lives of children belonging to different marginalized communities in Pakistan. It is every child’s right to live a life with a healthy and loving upbringing and relevant stakeholders should on helping empower the children of minority group and providing them with a safe and healthy environment. The five documentaries highlight stories of children form the Ahmadi, Shia, Christian, Hindu and Hazara communities.
SOC Films, under its sustainability initiative SOCH Outreach Foundation, announces the launch of “Pakistan’s Climate Change Heroes” – a book and film series which aims to spark a new dialogue around the climate change crisis, while also celebrating the work of Pakistanis who are working to counteract one of the greatest crises of our times.
